Bulkhead rolled out Wardogs update 0.1.2 on 30 September, after an hour of server maintenance. On paper it’s a small patch, labelled a minor one by the studio itself, but it sends a strong message: the studio is closing the loopholes that let players earn cash and XP far too easily, and says its patience with cheaters has run out. It also fixes a crash triggered by a Windows 11 update and changes how you pick a server. All of this lands two weeks before Season 02, due on 15 October.
At a glance
Patch 0.1.2 fixes several exploits that inflated players’ cash and XP, and those caught abusing them have had their progression reset.
Bulkhead is moving to zero tolerance: repeated exploit abuse can now lead to a permanent ban without warning.
A new deploy menu puts Infantry Mode and low-level servers front and centre.
Wardogs closes its cash and XP exploits
According to the patch notes posted on Steam, the update mainly targets abuses that have cropped up since the early access launch. Revive validity checks are now fully server-side, which cuts down on exploits across the map. An exploit that let vehicles pass through scenery has been fixed, and the rewards tied to it are now capped.
Two more tweaks touch the Wardogs economy. Destroying a buildable now pays out in proportion to how far it had been built, so wrecking a freshly placed schematic no longer earns the full reward. Dropping pallets into a forward base outside the zone also pays less than it used to.

No more second chances for cheaters
The tone of the patch notes shifts noticeably here. Bulkhead says that anyone caught abusing cash and XP exploits, or worse, real-money trading, has had their cash and progression reset. They now risk a permanent ban.
The studio explains it had been more lenient with first-time offenders so far, because it expected Season 01 to hide several undiscovered exploits. “That leniency is now over,” Bulkhead writes, announcing zero tolerance for economy abuse. A player who deliberately and repeatedly exploits a loophole can now be banned without warning.
A new menu for picking your server
The Wardogs server browser gets a new flow called Deploy. Hit the button and you choose between official servers, community servers, Infantry Mode and low-level servers. Bulkhead describes this as a first step towards steering players to those modes, with low-level servers aimed at players early in their progression. If that’s you, our tips on the best early weapons in Wardogs still hold up.
Smaller improvements come with it, and most of them deal with the little frustrations of getting into a match. Advanced filters are back on the official servers list, long server names now show in full when you hover over them, and you can see your place in the queue after joining. Region select shows how many regions you’ve ticked, and gamepads now work on the deploy screen. Anonymous mode now hides the server name on the loading screen as well, just like streamer mode does.

The WD-L020 crash fixed, Season 02 on the way
The patch also sorts out the WD-L020 error, a crash caused by Windows 11 update KB5124010. There are a handful of server stability hotfixes and security improvements too. Among the quieter fixes, grenades, smoke and C4 can no longer be thrown from enclosed vehicle seats, and the adaptive crosshair now hides properly when you aim down sights.
All this comes as Wardogs enjoys a very strong start. The studio announced on 26 September that it had sold 3 million copies in just over two weeks of early access, and the game was sixth on Steam on the morning of 1 October, with a 24-hour peak of 231,414 concurrent players according to Valve’s official chart. Season 02 is due on 15 October, and Bulkhead had promised more details later this week. The studio had itself warned it might run short of content, as we reported in our story on Bulkhead’s warning about Wardogs content.
