Rockstar Games opened pre-orders on 24 September for a GTA 6 box set called The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection, priced at £349.99 in the UK and $399.99 in the US. Eleven pieces of merchandise are packed inside, from a figure to a snapback cap by way of a cocktail swizzle spoon. The game itself is a separate purchase, since the box holds merchandise only. Shipping is set for 19 November, the day the game arrives, and the run is billed as limited. The price alone was enough to set players off.
At a glance
£349.99 or $399.99, shipping on 19 November 2026.
Eleven pieces of merchandise, no copy of the game in the box.
Rockstar Games says quantities are limited, with no number attached.
What is actually inside the GTA 6 box
The full contents come from the announcement Rockstar Games published on its Newswire. The centrepiece is a figure of Macca the Gator, mascot of a fictional Leonida television show, sitting on a base that twists open.
Around it, the GTA 6 collection gathers a pair of Oakley Frogskins sunglasses, a Leonida Keys crossbody bag, a New Era 9FORTY snapback, a magnetic mirror, a Chunkee the Manatee shot glass, a Vice City swizzle spoon and a razor blade keychain. Nine enamel pins, nine vinyl stickers and a double-sided poster carrying a map of Leonida round out the set.
Everything here orbits the televisual, sun-bleached side of the setting, with no in-game content attached. The official listing mentions no digital bonus of any kind.
Picking Macca the Gator as the headline piece says plenty about the intended buyer. Rockstar Games fronts an in-universe creature rather than Jason and Lucia, which assumes an audience that already knows the Leonida shown in the GTA 6 trailers.

The price, measured against the game
The figure is what landed hardest. At $399.99, the box costs roughly five times the standard edition of the game, listed at €79.99, a ratio ActuGaming drew out in its coverage of the announcement.
British outlet NME confirmed the £349.99 UK price and underlined the absence of the game itself. Kotaku and TechRadar took the same line, describing a collectible priced like an entry-level console.
A GTA 6 box without the game assumes a buyer already sold. Rockstar Games is aiming at players who will buy the title regardless and want objects for a shelf.
Worth noting for UK buyers: the sterling price sits close to the dollar figure once VAT is folded in, so the usual gap between the two markets is narrower than it looks. At £349.99 the box lands in the same bracket as a discounted console bundle, which is the comparison most outlets reached for.
Other publishers have run the same play with so-called ultimate editions that split the game from the merchandise. The difference is scale, because GTA 6 pulls a far wider audience than the industry norm, and every commercial decision around it gets picked over.
A limited run timed to launch day
Rockstar Games says the box ships on 19 November, the GTA 6 release date, and that it is offered while supplies last. Pre-orders go through the publisher’s own online store.
That “limited” wording points to a short production run, though no figure has been given. Shacknews and TechPowerUp, both of which carried the announcement, got no further detail either.
For buyers, the practical question is delivery. Physical goods shipped on release day rarely land on release day, and Rockstar Games has published no delivery window by country. Postage and any import duties sit with the buyer depending on region.
That timing puts the GTA 6 box in the same week as the game itself, when the publisher’s servers and support lines will already be stretched. Earlier Rockstar store drops sold through quickly on the most wanted pieces, and the store has form for short windows.

What the announcement says about Rockstar’s run-up
The commercial cadence has picked up sharply. Rockstar Games revealed a 34-track physical soundtrack earlier in September, and this box adds to a merchandise catalogue that grows week by week.
There is a practical takeaway for anyone following GTA 6 closely: sort what touches the game from what belongs on a shelf. The standard edition covers playing on 19 November, and everything else is collecting.
Whether Rockstar Games rounds this out with a physical edition that does include the game remains open. Nothing of the sort has been announced, and the window is narrowing with under two months to go.
