ANTONBLAST, the explosive platformer from indie studio Summitsphere, arrives on PS5 and PS4 on Thursday 15 October. The date comes from Gematsu, a site that tracks release news closely, while the studio and publisher Joystick Ventures had so far only promised a mid-October launch. The game has been out on PC and Switch since December 2024, where it went down a storm with players. PlayStation owners can finally pick up Dynamite Anton’s hammer. They may just need a little patience until the PlayStation Store listing shows the date.

ANTONBLAST reaches PlayStation almost two years after PC
According to Gematsu’s report on the game’s PlayStation release, published overnight from 13 to 14 October, ANTONBLAST will be available on PS5 and PS4 on 15 October. Earlier this month, Spanish outlet Vandal reported that Summitsphere and Joystick Ventures were targeting mid-October without naming a day, and that the PlayStation Store page still listed the date as to be confirmed. As of the morning of 14 October, the studio’s Bluesky account hadn’t yet shared the 15 October date.
The game came out on PC on 3 December 2024, followed by Nintendo Switch on 13 December. The PlayStation version therefore lands almost two years later, by which point the studio has wrapped up its work on new content. PS5 players are getting a game its creators consider finished.

A giant hammer and a level that falls apart behind you
In ANTONBLAST, you play as Dynamite Anton or his co-worker Annie, both armed with a huge hammer that flattens almost everything in sight. Satan has stolen what they hold most dear, and Brulo, a former casino owner with his own score to settle with the devil, helps them get it back. Vandal calls it the “indie Wario” for the way it channels the Wario Land games, with levels built to be smashed apart and bosses that fill the whole screen.
Each level follows the same pattern. You set off Brulo’s detonators, find the stolen goods, then a countdown kicks in and the whole stage starts collapsing while you race back to the exit. That final stretch turns every level into a time trial, and it’s often where players spend the most time perfecting their route. If fast-paced 2D platforming is your thing, the indie scene has plenty more to offer, including our review of the metroidvania Well Dweller.
Summitsphere closed the book with THE END update
On PC, the studio released its last major update, THE END, in December 2025. It added four fights against the members of the Demon Corp, a tournament that throws the game’s nine major bosses at you without letting you get knocked out, and a handful of extra challenges. In Summitsphere’s announcements on the ANTONBLAST Steam page, the team described it as the closest thing to a definitive version of ANTONBLAST. Summitsphere hasn’t yet said whether every update will be included in the PS5 version at launch.
In February 2026, the studio went a step further on PC by opening a special branch of the game to modders, who can now change the game right down to its code. That option is specific to the Steam version.
A warm welcome from PC players
PC players took to ANTONBLAST straight away. On 14 October, its Steam page showed 4,724 user reviews, 4,498 of them positive, around 95%, with an Overwhelmingly Positive rating. The PC version also holds a Metacritic score of 87, according to the link on the Steam listing itself. For an indie game that slipped under the mainstream radar, those are very strong numbers, and they make a further port easy to understand.
The game is currently 45% off on Steam, at £9.76 in the UK. The price of the PlayStation version hasn’t been announced yet. If you’ve been waiting for ANTONBLAST on PS5, keep an eye on the PlayStation Store this Thursday.
