Aion 2 levelling guide: how to reach level 45 fast

Aion 2 launched worldwide on 5 October, and plenty of new players are asking the same thing: what’s the quickest way to reach level 45, the game’s current cap? Most of the answer comes down to doing things in the right order, and to a progress bar that stops your experience at two specific points. The tips below draw on guides from Mein-MMO, KeenGamer and the French site aion2.run, all of which mapped out the levelling route in the first days after launch. Expect a few evenings, more or fewer depending on your pace.

At a glance

Follow the main story quest first: it gives by far the most experience on the way to 45.

A progress bar blocks experience before levels 22 and 32, so keep side content for those moments.

Try to reach level 22 on day one, so Odyle Energy starts building up early.

Aion 2’s main quest comes before everything else

Every guide agrees on this one. Karsten Scholz of Mein-MMO explains in his guide to levelling quickly in Aion 2 that the main quest line, highlighted in gold, gives a lot of experience and takes you all the way to the level cap. Grinding monsters or roaming the open world pays far less, in his view.

How long should you set aside? Mein-MMO suggests 10 to 15 hours for a first character. The French site aion2.run, which pulls together several sets of figures, quotes 4 to 6 hours on an optimised route and 9 to 12 hours at a normal pace, citing AllThingsHow and Game8. Your next characters will go faster, since you’ll already know the way. If you’re still torn on what to play, our guide to Aion 2’s classes compares the best picks for beginners.

The progress bar that stalls you at levels 22 and 32

This is where many players get stuck without knowing why. According to aion2.run, a progress bar stops you gaining experience before levels 22 and 32 until it has been filled, and Mein-MMO notes that you’ll often need some side content to top it up. Green side quests and Sealed Dungeons are what fill it.

The same French guide therefore suggests saving those activities for those two moments, and counts 61 Sealed Dungeons per faction in Aion 2, which is plenty. Karsten Scholz also points out that this content scales with your character’s level, so there’s no rush to clear it all.

Kibelisks, Stigma and Odyle Energy: three habits worth forming

First, activate every Kibelisk you pass. These Aion 2 travel points save you long trips later, and Ali Amir of KeenGamer lists it among the first things to do in his Aion 2 levelling and progression guide. The same guide explains that Stigma slots open at levels 22, 27, 32 and 37, and advises picking ones that genuinely help your main setup.

Level 22 matters for another reason. From that point, Odyle Energy refills by 15 every three hours, according to aion2.run. Hitting level 22 on your first day lets you start banking it as early as possible. As for gear, KeenGamer warns against heavily enhancing equipment you’ll soon replace.

What to do first once you reach level 45

At level 45, normal levelling largely stops and progress shifts to your item level, dungeons and other systems, KeenGamer explains. Its suggested order starts with Regional Quests for accessories, runes and titles, then Sealed Dungeons and Strongholds, with Odyle Energy spent on the highest reward tier you can use.

Aion 2’s daily missions are worth a look too. The French site AtelierGaming counts five of them, each paying 50,000 bound Kinah and 1,000 Abyss Points, with the daily reset at 8am BST and the weekly reset on Wednesdays. Further down the line, KeenGamer sets a target of roughly 2,800 item level for the Abyssal Forge: Ludra raid, with Conquest Expeditions such as Krao Cave and Draupnir as the first places to farm gear.

One last practical point: if you want to join friends on another server, NC has announced server transfers from Wednesday 14 October, first for the early access servers. Transfers are listed at no cost for the base fee and per character, with extra character slots priced at 1,000 Quna each.
