Privacy & cookies

Last updated: September 19, 2026

The short version

You don’t need an account or a sign-up to read Hitbox Magazine, so the site handles very little information about you: what your browser sends automatically when a page loads, and the cookies described below. This page explains what is processed, why, and how you can object, in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (2016/679) and French data protection law.

Who is responsible

Julien Lefevre, the site’s publisher,, reachable at contact@hitboxmagazine.com.

What is processed

Server logs. Our host keeps technical logs (IP address, date and time, page requested) to protect the site and keep it available. This relies on our legitimate interest in running a secure website.

Language. A technical cookie remembers whether you chose English or French. It’s required for the bilingual site to work and is used for nothing else.

Cookie choices. The consent banner stores your choices in a cookie, so you aren’t asked again on every visit.

Audience measurement. No audience measurement tool is active at this time. If the site adds one, this page will be updated and your consent will be requested through the cookie banner.

How long it’s kept

The language cookie lasts for your visit, and the one that stores your choices follows the duration set by the consent banner. Server logs are kept according to the host’s own policy.

What we don’t do

Hitbox Magazine never sells, rents or trades any data, and the site doesn’t show targeted ads.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, restrict or object to its processing, or receive it in a readable format. Just write to contact@hitboxmagazine.com and we’ll reply within a month. You can also block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings.

If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can file a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (www.cnil.fr).

Changes to this page

This page will be updated if the site adds a service that processes data, such as an analytics tool or affiliate links. The date at the top shows the latest change.
