PS Plus October 2026: F1 25, Hunt and Earth Defense Force

Sony revealed the PS Plus games for October 2026 on 30 September. Subscribers can add F1 25, Hunt: Showdown 1896 and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 to their libraries, three games with very little in common. Official Formula One racing, a tense bounty-hunting shooter and a blocky co-op blaster make for a fairly varied line-up to start the autumn. September’s games are still there to claim for a few more days, and Sony is adding some extras as Halloween approaches.

At a glance

F1 25, Hunt: Showdown 1896 and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 join PS Plus Essential on Tuesday 6 October.

All three stay available until Monday 2 November, and September’s games leave on 5 October.

Horror-themed item packs are free for subscribers over Halloween, for Warzone, Hunt and Overwatch 2.

The three PS Plus games for October 2026

The line-up was announced on the PlayStation Blog, Sony’s official site. All three games will be available to subscribers from Tuesday 6 October to Monday 2 November. As every month with PS Plus, you just need to add them to your library during that window to keep them for as long as your subscription stays active.

F1 25 is the official game of the 2025 Formula One World Championship. It has a solo career, the My Team 2.0 mode where you run your own team, and a multiplayer mode that lets you race as a squad with friends against AI drivers. It’s PS5 only, and it’s the most recent of the three games on the list. In My Team 2.0 you step in as the owner of a Formula One team, which gives the career a management side alongside the racing.

Hunt: Showdown 1896 is the month’s big catch

Hunt: Showdown 1896 is an extraction shooter from Crytek. In forgotten late 19th-century swamps, you track down monsters for a bounty while rival teams of hunters go after the same target. You have to kill the boss, claim the bounty and get off the map alive, either alone or with up to two teammates.

Its official description calls it unforgiving, and the risk of losing everything is the whole point, since every exit from the map has to be won against other hunters. Having it on PS Plus is a good chance to try it without buying it. Sony is adding a free starter pack for subscribers from 6 October as well.

Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 brings blocky co-op

The third game is the oddest of the bunch. Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 takes place on an Earth made of blocks, under attack from giant enemies. You pick four teammates from the soldiers you’ve rescued around the world, drawn from both the main series and its spin-offs, then build the squad around your play style and pick your equipment before deploying. It supports four-player online co-op and two-player split screen, on both PS5 and PS4.

Enemies from earlier games return in voxel form, alongside brand new creatures. It’s the only one of the three October PS Plus games that’s also on PS4, which makes it the pick for anyone who hasn’t moved to PS5 yet.

Halloween extras and the games on their way out

Before the new games arrive, don’t forget September’s. Sniper Elite: Resistance, MLB The Show 26, Wobbly Life and Chained Echoes can be claimed until Monday 5 October. After that date they leave the service, and you won’t be able to add them to your library any more.

For Halloween, Sony is also handing out horror-themed item packs to PS Plus subscribers. The Call of Duty: Warzone Horror Bundle has been available since 1 October, the Hunt: Showdown 1896 starter pack arrives on 6 October, and Overwatch 2 gets a Dragur Reinhardt skin with five battle pass tier skips on 7 October. You’ll need to own each game to use its pack.

Finally, Sony points out that the PS Plus line-up can differ by region, so it’s worth checking the PlayStation Store on release day, Tuesday 6 October, before planning your evening. Subscribers can also claim free Spider-Man: Brand New Day avatars from the same day, through the Sony Pictures Core app.
